Extract 7z, RAR, TAR & ISO Archives Online
Open 7z, RAR, TAR, TAR.GZ, GZ, BZ2, XZ, ISO and CAB archives in your browser. List the contents, enter a password and extract selected files — no upload, no install.
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploadedOpen 7z, RAR and TAR files without extra software
Windows and macOS can unzip ZIP files on their own, but a 7z download, a RAR from a forum or a
.tar.gz source package usually means installing another program. This extractor opens all of
them directly in your browser. It is built on libarchive — the same library behind the tar
command on macOS and BSD — compiled to WebAssembly, so it understands 7-Zip, RAR 4 and RAR 5, every TAR
variant, GZIP, BZIP2, XZ and Zstandard compression, ISO disc images, Microsoft CAB files, Debian packages and
more. The archive type is recognised from the file's contents, so it still works when the extension is wrong.
After opening, you see a folder tree with the size of every file. Tick individual files, whole folders or
everything, then extract. A single file is saved as-is; a selection is packed into one ZIP that keeps the
original folder structure, which avoids a separate download prompt for every file. Single-file compressed
streams such as .gz, .bz2 or .xz are decompressed and saved under the
original file name.
Password-protected archives
If an archive is encrypted, the tool tells you and asks for the password. Type it into the password field and click “Open again with password”; it is only passed to the extraction engine running in your tab and is never stored or transmitted. Encrypted ZIP archives can be decrypted when the password is correct. Encrypted 7z and RAR archives are detected, but libarchive has no decoder for their encryption, so the tool explains that instead of producing corrupted output — a desktop program such as 7-Zip is needed for those.
Private, local extraction
The WebAssembly engine runs in a background worker, so the page stays responsive while large archives are being read. Nothing is uploaded: the archive is read from your disk, decompressed on your device and the results are handed directly to your downloads folder. Archive entry names are sanitised before saving, which protects you from archives that try to write files outside their folder. For plain ZIP files the Unzip Files tool is lighter and opens very large ZIPs faster.
